I attended my first NAIDOC Breakfast 2016. Only new to Townsville. Beautiful table settings, dancers were great and guest speaker Uncle Russell was very great to listen to story. All other guest speakers were great. Bigger venue needed, public holiday needed so we can have more time to meet. Great work committee.

I attended quite a few NAIDOC events during the celebrations. The Elders dinner and entertainment at the RSL was most appreciated. The BIG march on Friday made me so very PROUD to be an Aborigine! Those hundreds of people who attended the Riverway function and checked out the various stalls made NAIDOC worthwhile. And WOW!! what a line-up of talented Aboriginal and Islander artists who performed during the talent quest. The Townsville NAIDOC committee excelled themselves this year. The dinner a the Brothers Leagues Club on Saturday night was the icing on the NAIDOC cake. I would like to thank Shane Alley Townsville City Council liaison person, Marita Akee and NAIDOC chairperson Jenny Wyles for their combined efforts in presenting a most memorable week of entertainment, fun and for reinforcing via a strong NAIDOC march that Australia is indeed homelands of the First Australians, the Aborigines who have been here since time immemorial. Thanks and see you next year.
